· It''s not hard to do. If the amp has a speaker out jack and an extension speaker jack it''s pretty easy. I replace the extension speaker jack with the line out jack (only a 1/4" and not a XLR, but sounds pretty good to me) by dropping a resistor from the hot end of the speaker jack to the hot end of the extension jack (220K or so, after having disconnected the extension jack connections and made ...
· so you would plug the speaker out into a speaker cabinet, and the line out into the line input of a mixer or something. Reactions: true-eurt. antichef pornk rock. Feb 14, 2007 #3 zed32 said: ... Line out of an amp is the right thing to connect to a line in of a device. If the input of the laptop is not designated as a line input, it will be ...
What does "line level" mean? A device that operates at line level either has a very strong output signal, or only functions properly when you feed a very strong signal into it. Examples of line level outputs include mic preamps, mixers, the "line out" of an amp, and some effects-loop "send" jacks. Inputs needing this level include power amps ...
· A direct out will a lot of times have a speaker cab simulation on the signal so you can run it directly through a mixer. But they are basically the same thing, there is no power other than a line ...
The A-5006 is a half-rack 1-unit size, 60 W, desktop mixer power amplifier. Inputs 1 and 2 can be set for either MIC or LINE sound sources, and its output is compatible with both high-impedance (100V and 70V lines) and low-impedance (4 Ω) speaker connections. Functions can be set with a …
· Re: Connecting two power amps to a mixer/ single audio input. Reply #1 – 2016-05-18 19:44:36. It''s OK to connect two (or more) amps* to one line output, so you just need a pair of Y-Adapters (splitters). Or, your mixer may have more than one set of line-outs (I didn''t check the spec).
· Exactly. In addition to that, the DI out usually isn''t affected by the master volume, meaning the soundman doesn''t have to adjust the gain on his console if you change the volume on your amp. The intention of a line out is usually to drive a second amp, so it makes sense to control both amps with the master volume on the first one.
· 2) Guitar>amp>recorder - little more fun, get the sound of the amp, can use amp effects 3)Guitar>amp>mixer>recorder - no point unless the mixer has effects you want to use. Just make sure the amp goes into a line-in of the mixer, not a preamp or you will have way to much signal. Note: When I say amp, I mean the line out of the amp. I assume you ...
Will the line-level signal coming out of my mixer be too high or otherwise inappropriate for the amp. SOS Forum Post. Editor In Chief Paul White replies: This is a common technique and shouldn''t present you with too many problems, provided that you watch your levels. The standard line out from the desk is likely to be rather high for a guitar ...

Analog mixers adjust the volume and tone of input audio signals. Most of the control knobs and faders are arranged on the top panel, so it is easy to understand the signal flow and what state the audio is in. Operating analog mixers is normally an intuitive process. (2) Digital mixers. Digital mixers process input audio signals and adjust their ...
· The headphone output is independent of the power amp output, so you do not need to worry about any interaction there. Yes, you can run the power amp to a speaker, and the headphone out to the PA. If the PA mixer is within 20 feet of your amp, you can go into a line input on the mixer. If not, I highly suggest a direct box.
· Hi Dale, have only just got the Code 100, but planed to use it as with other amps just on it''s own in practice but for live pub and club gigs would like to line out to a mixer then that into a stereo PA, I could mic the amp up but have preferred the line out to avoid feedback etc. as the smaller gigs are more difficult to avoid this.
· I''d use one of those adapter cables that are meant to plug your MP3 player into a stereo - 2 x RCA plugs to a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo plug. If your mixer doesn''t have RCA outs, get some 1/4" male to RCA adapters at Radio Shack. The sound card input is "line level" as well. Don''t use speaker wire unless you''re connecting it to a speaker.
· 4. On the free end of the 2200 ohm and also on the free end of the wire, solder an alligator clip. You are done. Clip the two alligator clips to the + and - of a speaker and you now have a line out. This will drive almost anything. ( another amp, mixer, effects pedals, etc.) Aug 2, 2011 #3.
· Many manufacturers now include a line-out jack on their amplifiers for this reason. Line-out jacks are usually found on the rear panel of the amplifier, near the speaker outputs. Line-out jacks typically accept standard quarter inch phono plugs, and in some cases, XLR connectors. There are three primary uses for line-out jacks.
· For sending a direct line to the PA, use the guitar amp''s "line out" jack. DO NOT use a "speaker" or "headphone" output as they can distort or damage a mixer''s input circuitry.
· The preamp-out with a return is often intended to feed an analog in-loop pedal. Some amps have an XLR output with the appropriate bias for direct to the mixer to PA. The modern (and expensive) Fender Bassman TV-10 has this biased line out. Gonzo-X is correct in general but some amps have a special output.
· For $30 or $35 you can get a Behringer Ultra-G direct box that goes between the amp and the speaker and siphons off a line level signal with speaker emulation. That will give you the sound of the power amp and eq that approximates a speaker. Still not as good as a mic in front of the speaker, but way better than a preamp line out.
LINE OUT. A Line Out jack on an amplifier provides a versatile way to send the amp''s output to a recording console, a PA system, or another amplifier. Some amps put the Line Out between the pre-amp stage and the power section, but the magic tone of some amps come from the phase inverter, power tubes, or output transformer, and such a Line Out bypasses those.
· "Speaker Out" jacks on your mixer suggest you are trying to connect outputs from a powered mixer or power amp to your unpowered (or passive) speakers. Speaker Out signals carry more than just the audio; they also carry significant electrical energy (power, which drives the speakers) that the line level audio inputs on powered speakers can ...
· Four Input, 60W Mixer-Amplifier. Crown''s 135MA and 160MA are high value mixer-amplifiers for commercial audio. They provide 8-ohm and constant-voltage outputs (70V and 100V). Typical uses are paging, background music, and music-on-hold. The 135MA provides 3 inputs (each with a volume control) and a 35W amplifier output.
· I would like to use it with a regular on-stage mixer/speakers, but my little band''s sound man says it is putting out power and may burn up his gear which accepts only ''line level'' input. ... A typical headphone amp isn''t much more than a line amp configured to be able to deliver higher currents into the lower impedances found in most ...

· Let''s start designing our circuit for the mixer. For your party, you want to have 4 singers and 1 song mixed together. This is a total of 5 channels, so you will need 1 op-amp and 5 potentiometers. An op-amp is not well suited to directly driving a speaker, so a power amp …
· You can wire up a 47 uf capacitor in series between the signal coming from the wiper of the 10K pot and the 1/4 line out phono socket in order to prevent any stray leakage DC voltage from a faulty external amplifier or mixer etc going to the 10K pot and to the G output terminal. BALANCED LINE OUT.
The best way to make a mixer is to make an active one using Op Amps. This method both prevents volume loss and cross-talk. This is far beyond the basic circuit we made here. However, should you want to learn the knowledge and skills to tackle that project, check out my Electronics Class. Did you find this useful, fun, or entertaining?
· Currently only playing about 10 percent electric and I have been just running direct to the mixer from my Digitech RP500. Sounds fine, but I am looking at getting a 1x12 tube combo and am thinking it would be great as a monitor on stage with a line out to the mixer, like on an Egnater Rebel 30 or Haze 40, Blackstar 40, etc.
· In the first case the gain is the volume on the preamp and the volume is the volume on the power amp, in the second case, volume is the volume of the preamp and master volume is the volume of the power amp. In both cases the first control affects the line out if it is post EQ and the second one doesn''t. Mar 4, 2015 #7.
· An example is a band that wants to record the live performance of what''s coming out of the PA system by taking a line out from the mixer to the audio interface and then recording it into a laptop. Another example could be a DJ that wants to connect the DJ mixer to the audio interface to record the music mix.
· Played my first show with the Katana 212 this morning. I ran guitar into Katana, Line Out into direct box 1/4 inch, then XLR from direct box into PA. What was coming out of the monitor was nearly identical to what was coming out of the amp, tone wise. I consider that a perfect scenario. I am very happy wit the results. These amps are killer.
